General Information

Background

The Managed Clinical Network was set up in early 2006 by the North of Scotland planning group to develop a network for Tayside, Grampian, Highland (including Argyll & Bute), Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles.

The draft aims of the MCN are to

  • Effectively and actively manage network activities
  • Deliver evidence based services through the implementation of guidelines
  • Improve patient care in terms of quality, access and experience
  • Implement a quality assurance programme
  • Involve patients/carers in service development
  • Develop and implement effective clinical and information management systems
  • Develop opportunities for training and supervision
  • Support research and continuing professional development


Steering Group has been established and has developed a Project Plan for the Managed Clinical Network
