Annual Compliance Reports

Annual Health Board Climate & Sustainability Report

Under paragraph 65 of the Policy for NHS Scotland on the Climate Emergency and Sustainable Development (DL (2021) 38), each NHS Scotland body must publish a report on its public website each year summarising its progress against the aims of this policy using a template approved by the Scottish Government Health and Social Care directorates (SGHSC) for that purpose.

Public Bodies Climate Change Duty (PBCCD) Report

All public bodies listed in Schedule 1 of the ‘Climate Change (Duties of Public Bodies; Reporting Requirements) (Scotland) Order 2015’ as amended by the Climate Change (Duties of Public Bodies: Reporting Requirements) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2020, are required to report annually on compliance with climate change duties established under S44 of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 and in accordance with Schedule 2 of the 2015 Order.

Biodiversity Duty Report

Under the Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004, all public bodies in Scotland are required to further the conservation of biodiversity when carrying out their responsibilities. The Wildlife and Natural Environment (Scotland) Act 2011 requires public bodies in Scotland to provide a publicly available report every three years, on the actions which they have taken to meet this biodiversity duty.

NHS Grampian’s Climate Emergency & Sustainability Strategy: Reimagining the Health Service for People & Planet 2023-2028

This strategy (pdf) aims to develop climate change adaptation, environmental sustainability, and biodiversity action locally through NHS Grampian’s Plan for the Future, as well as aligning with the national targets set out in NHS Scotland’s Climate Emergency & Sustainability Strategy & Policy for NHS Scotland on the Global Climate Emergency and Sustainable Development.
